Lalmai Moinamoti and Shalbon Bihar

Lalmai Moinamoti and Shalbon Bihar They are famous historical and archeological places around Comilla. These are a series of hillocks, where the Northern part is called Moinamoti and the Southern part is called Lalmai; and Shalbon Bihar is in the Middle of Lalmai and Moinamoti, which the was established in 8th century by King Buddadev. Salban Vihara, almost in the middle of the Mainarnati-Lalmai hill range consists of 115 cells, built around a spacious courtyard with cruciform temple in the centre facing its only gateway complex to the north resembling that of the Paharpur Monastery. Kotila Mura situated on a flattened hillock, about 5 km north of Salban Vihara inside the Comilla Cantonment is a picturesque Buddhist establishment.

Bhasu Vihara Bhasu Vihara Located at about 6 km west of mahasthangarh (Mahasthangad) on the northern part of village Bhasu Vihara, under Bihar union of Shibganj thana of Bogra district, about 500m west of the Nagar river. Three mounds have been excavated here revealing the basal parts of two monasteries and one shrine. Bhasu Vihara, locally known as Narapatir Dhap, is a complex of two rectangular monasteries and a semi-cruciform shrine of the Post-Gupta period. Jinjira Palace

Jinjira Palace Jinjira Palace situated on the southern bank of the buriganga almost opposite to the bara katra of Dhaka was built by Mughal subahdar ibrahim khan II (1689-1697) as his recreation resort. The site of the palace with the outlying area having been surrounded by rivers had the natural characteristics of an island, and hence the palace erected therein was named Qasr-i-Jazirah meaning palace of the island. The palace having originally been built just on the riverbank is said to have been connected with the Dhaka city by a wooden bridge thrown across the river at Bara Katra point. The palace is now extinct except two octagonal side towers, the dilapidated gateway (dewri) on the south and the remains of its broad foundation with the surrounding moat.

Sompur Bihara

Sompur Bihara Sompur Bihara is one of the most important archeological structures in Bangladesh. Situated in the heartland of Varendra, in the present-day Naogaon District of Bangladesh, the extensive ruins of Paharpur, originally known as the Sompur Vihara, is a wonder of Buddhist architecture in the country. The great king Dharmapala of Bengal, in the 8th century, built the monastery as a famous Asian seat of learning and pilgrimage. The 21 acre (85,000 mē) complex has 177 cells, viharas, numerous stupas, temples and a number of other ancillary buildings.

Nimtali Kuthi / Nimtali Palace Nimtali Kuthi - 1st Colonial Building in Dhaka, Bangladesh. When the capital of the Subah-i-Bangla was shifted from Dhaka to Murshidabad in about 1717, Dhaka was made the seat of a Naib-Nazim (Deputy-Governor of a sub-province) comprising the greater part of present Bangladesh. Nimtali Kuthi or Nimtali Palace was built towards the end of the Mughal rule in Dhaka as a residence of the Naib-Nazim (Deputy-Governor) of Dhaka Province in 1765-66. It was situated in the Nimtali ward and popularly called the Nimtali Kuthi (Nimtali Palace).

Govinda Bhita

Govinda Bhita Govinda Bhita a high mound, traditionally ascribed to be the site of a Govinda temple and is located outside the northern rampart of mahasthanagarh (Pundranagar) of Bogra district. On its eastern and northern sides flows the moribund Karatoya. KN Dikshit excavated the mound in 1928-29 and Nazimuddin Ahmed conducted a deep digging here in 1960. Excavations by Dikshit exposed two temple remains: one western and the other eastern.

Mankalir Kunda Dhap

Mankalir Kunda Dhap Mankalir Kunda Dhap a small conical mound, is located about 100 yards north of the Khodai Pathar mound within the citadel area of mahasthangarh (in Bogra District). The mound overlooks a deep tank on the west. Alluding to a curious local legend, Cunningham connected the name of the mound with Raja Man Sing. Others thought that the mound derives its name from the Muslim Mankhalis of Ghoraghat, who were very powerful during the rule of the independent sultans of Bengal.
