Tanguar Haor Tanguar Haor a large haor lies within Sunamganj district extending over 10 mauzas of Dharmapasha and Tahirpur upazilas of the district. The mauzas covering the Tanguar haor are (1) Jagadishpur, (2) Bhabanipur, (3) Lamagaon, (4) Ramsinhapur, (5) Mahajampur, (6) Maindag, (7) Mayajuri, (8) Bhangachara Purba, (9) Noagaon, and (10) Tanguar Haor. The haor consists of 120 beels of various sizes. The area of Tanguar haor including 46 villages within the haor is about 100 sq km of which 2802.

Takerghat Hillocks

Takerghat Hillocks Takerghat Hillocks small low hills. The Takerghat Hillocks are situated in the Sunamganj district and have a maximum elevation of about 22m above mean sea level. They consist of Palaeogene sediments belonging to the Tura and Sylhet Limestone formations. Although the sandstone of the Tura forms four small hills in the Takerghat area the top of the formation lies buried under the alluvium.

Dauki River

Dauki River Dauki River a small hilly river that originates in the southwestern region of the shillong massif in Lower Assam. It enters Bangladesh at Jaflong in jaintiapur upazila of sylhet district. The river is named according to the Dauki Fault System that borders the country and separates Meghalaya all along the northern border of greater Sylhet. The fault also defines the southern margin of shillong plateau.
